I specialize in information security and cybersecurity with expertise in ethical hacking and penetration testing, IT audits, and network vulnerability assessments. My industry experience includes financial institutions (banks and credit unions), services, government, nonprofit, healthcare, education, manufacturing, and automotive.
While I have over 10 years of experience, I actually started my career with the intent to become a psychologist. However, during my first job post-college, a co-worker of mine was going to school for information assurance (information security), and the classes sounded interesting and fun. I went back to school, and the rest is history. Today, I enjoy helping clients and taking on new challenges. I’m attracted to this career because it’s always growing and changing.
I’ve presented on security-related topics at conferences, including Michigan Credit Union League & Affiliates (MCUL), Eastern Michigan University Digital Divas, Insurance Accounting & Systems Association, Incorporated (IASA), and DCON Detroit.
I’m a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), and Security+ (CompTIA) certified. I’m a board member of the International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium (ISC)², a member of the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA) Detroit chapter, and the Michigan Council of Women in Technology (MCWT). I have a B.A. in psychology from the University of Michigan and a M.S. in information assurance from Eastern Michigan University.
Outside of work, I enjoy kickboxing, spending time with my husband and cat, and reading.
