I advise entrepreneurial owners and private equity investors on strategies to minimize their tax liability. While I primarily strategize with clients of internationally active manufacturing companies, I also work with multistate businesses in both the manufacturing and services industries (with a focus in franchising) to meet their financial goals.
Looking back, I was drawn to this career because it seemed a good fit with my love of math and problem-solving. After nearly 30 years in the industry, I’m proud to have developed such a wide breadth of tax knowledge to draw on while working with staff and my clients. Having earned a reputation among my colleagues as a strategic thinker in this area is gratifying.
I’m frequently invited to speak on tax-planning matters, helping people navigate the ever-changing landscape. Most recently, I spoke at the Tuffy franchise national convention on tax planning for the future, and at the University of Toledo Family Business Center on strategic year-end tax planning. I currently serve as the Tax Education chair for Plante Moran’s internal tax trainings and have served as the Toledo Office Tax Director for many years.
I belong to the AICPA, the Ohio Society of CPAs, the Toledo Estate Planning Council, the ProMedica Plan committee, and the Toledo Chamber of Commerce tax committee. I also participate on the boards of the Toledo Opera Endowment and St. Ursula’s Endowment. I’m a past recipient of the “20 Under 40” Leadership award, the University of Toledo Accounting Alumni of the Year, and a designated Women’s Business Advocate for the U.S. Small Business Association. I have a B.B.A. and a M.T. from the University of Toledo.
