Tom has more than 25 years of experience working on complex real estate projects and transactions. He brings extensive knowledge and expertise in real estate development, including structuring real estate partnerships, entitlements, tenant representation, financing, retail, and the overall build-to-suit process.
Tom was formerly with Cornerstone Real Estate, Inc., a development and tenant representation brokerage company, where he was president and owner. At Cornerstone he performed tenant representation services for retailers including Walgreen Co, L&M, PartiGiant, Pep Boys, Gander Mountain, 7-Eleven, BoRics and Factory Card Outlet, and for office and industrial clients including Lear Corporation, Getrag North America, Specialized Pharmacy Services, and Permacel.
He developed more than 20 stores for Walgreen Co. as one of its three preferred developers in Michigan. Tom also developed locations for Kmart Corporation, PNC Bank, Bank of America, Starbucks, Buffalo Wild Wings, and 7-Eleven.
Prior to founding Cornerstone, Tom was a partner at Trammell Crow Company from 1988 to 1993 and was an in-house real estate attorney at Kmart Corporation from 1985 to 1988.
Tom is a licensed attorney and real estate broker in the state of Michigan and is also a certified civil mediator.
Tom received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Western Michigan University and a juris doctorate from Michigan State University’s College of Law.
