Adam is a principal at Plante Moran Realpoint, where he focuses on capital markets advisory, mergers and acquisitions, and real estate transaction strategy, with a specialization in senior living, health care, and complex real estate assets. He brings more than 35 years of experience structuring, underwriting, acquiring, and capitalizing real estate and operating businesses across nonprofit and for‑profit environments.
Adam is the founder of Heavenrich & Company, a nationally recognized senior living investment banking and capital markets advisory firm established in 1994. Over his career, he has served as lead financial advisor to hundreds of clients and has worked on more than $1.5 billion in senior housing, healthcare, and real estate transactions, including single-asset sales, portfolio transactions, recapitalizations, and sale-leasebacks. He is widely regarded for his ability to align capital strategy with operational realities and long-term organizational objectives.
Prior to founding Heavenrich & Company, Adam held senior roles in real estate lending and investment banking, including serving as a senior underwriter at the U.S. unit of Sanwa Bank and positions with Shearson Lehman’s real estate investment banking subsidiary. He began his career in development and sales leadership for Universal Medical Buildings, a publicly traded healthcare real estate company.
Adam frequently publishes and speaks on senior living and healthcare finance topics and is a regular presenter at national and regional industry conferences. He earned an MBA in Finance and Marketing from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, with concentrations in healthcare and real estate finance; holds a diploma from the London School of Economics; and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, graduating with distinction.
