The challenge
CRW Plastics, a Brazil-based multinational plastic injection development and manufacturing company, sought to expand its operation in the United States, specifically in southeast Michigan.
CRW engaged Plante Moran Realpoint (PMR), formerly Plante Moran Cresa, to act as its representative and search out an appropriate real estate opportunity.
The solution
Diligent research by PMR discovered that another multinational plastics processor, the Dr. Schneider Automotive Systems company, was interested in divesting one of its facilities in Howell, Michigan. Serving both companies, PMR helped the Dr. Schneider Automotive System leadership release itself from a long-term lease, with the new agreement contingent upon the facility’s acquisition by CRW.
The benefit
PMR managed the entire negotiation, resulting in the transfer of the Dr. Schneider facility to CRW. CRW moved into the new 60,000-square-foot facility with no residual liability whatsoever.
