As a senior vice president at Plante Moran Realpoint Investment Advisors (PMRIA), Matt brings more than 15 years of real estate advisory and institutional asset management experience to the firm. Matt’s institutional track record adds a wealth of expertise to PMRIA’s direct investment business, helping ensure that each client has access to the investment discipline, business plan execution, and tailored portfolio management needed to succeed in today’s investment landscape.

Prior to joining PMRIA, Matt spent seven years at Brookfield Asset Management, a leading global investment firm with over $1 trillion in assets under management, where he held various investment and portfolio management roles within the real estate business. Based in New York City, Matt worked on multiple high-profile transactions, including Brookfield’s $11 billion take-private acquisition of Forest City Realty Trust, and managed privately held real estate portfolios exceeding $1 billion in gross asset value. Matt began his career in Plante Moran’s commercial real estate practice, where he focused on financial analysis, transaction structuring, and investment strategies for corporate and institutional clients.

Matt graduated from the University of Michigan as Big Ten Distinguished Scholar, earning both Academic All-Big Ten and University of Michigan athletic academic honors as a member of the Men’s Varsity Ice Hockey team. He represented the United States in international ice hockey competitions from 2005 to 2009 as a member of the National Team Development Program and two U.S. National Junior Teams. Matt was drafted in the fourth round by the Florida Panthers in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
