I believe it is better to work as a team than to try to handle a problem individually. The ability to pool our talent and skills is a unique and valuable asset for our clients.

Experience

With over 20 years of accounting experience, Monica is a valuable member of Plante Moran Realpoint’s (PMR’s), formerly Plante Moran Cresa's, program management team. As a project cost accountant, Monica establishes reporting guidelines and tracks project budgets and costs associated with the completion of clients’ capital projects.

Monica’s ability to challenge the status quo and make informed decisions sets her apart. By challenging herself and always learning new skills, Monica can look at clients’ problems from every angle and offer creative solutions that suit their needs.

Monica joined PMC from JLL in Detroit, Mich., where she served as a senior accountant working with various projects and clients. Prior to JLL, Monica spent 10 years at Schostak Brothers & Co., a privately held full-service commercial real estate company out of Livonia, Mich., where she began as a corporate accountant and later served as a portfolio analyst working with the property management team. During her time at Schostak Brothers, Monica was responsible for monthly close activities, financial statement reviews, departmental oversight, and property budgeting. Her greatest accomplishment was affecting revenue at prior employers by analyzing existing standards and offering suggestions for improvements.

Monica received a double associate degree from Davenport University and a bachelor’s degree from Walsh College. She is president of the Farmington High School Music Patrons, a nonprofit organization supporting the instrumental music program at Farmington High School in Michigan.
