Experience

A senior vice president at Plante Moran Realpoint (PMR), formerly Plante Moran Cresa, Allen is a valued member of PMR’s consulting team.

Allen brings over 15 years of real estate industry experience to PMR, including roles in consulting, development, capital markets, and asset management. A true real estate generalist, Allen has worked across various asset classes and types throughout his career. However, his expertise shines in the multifamily, commercial office, and retail sectors, especially in new developments and the restoration of historic properties. One of Allen’s greatest career achievements was his work on the revitalization of the historic Fisher Building in Detroit, Mich., which led to a successful equity and debt recapitalization.

At PMR, Allen leverages his extensive experience to offer clients unique insights, enabling them to seize opportunities and foresee potential challenges. Clients value Allen’s ability to provide the crucial information they need to make well-informed decisions.

Allen joined PMR from Real Estate Service Solutions Company in Southfield, Mich., where he served as chief investment officer and director of investor relations. In his role, Allen overhauled asset management processes, developed marketing materials and a private placement memorandum for a $100 million equity fund, and maintained a large network of potential investors ranging from high-net-worth individuals to large public pensions and university endowments.

Prior to that, Allen served as the director of capital markets and performance at The Platform in Detroit, Mich., where he sourced, negotiated, and closed more than $350 million of commercial mortgage debt across various asset classes. He also closed one of the first opportunity zone transactions in Michigan, sourcing low-cost equity, debt, and incentive financing for an 80,000-square-foot commercial office rehabilitation in Detroit.

Allen received his undergraduate degree and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Michigan. He holds a Real Estate Individual Broker license in the state of Michigan and is a member of the Michigan Association of Public Employee Retirement Systems (MAPERS).
