Experience

Doug, a senior vice president, brings more than 30 years of experience in commercial facility program management to Plante Moran Realpoint (PMR), formerly Plante Moran Cresa. He is responsible for the team’s overall performance and service, providing capital project delivery for clients in the West Michigan region.

As an owner’s representative for large capital programs, Doug helps clients develop the right strategies for their project implementation and manage the planning, execution, and occupancy process. His experience across a variety of industries — including K-12 and higher education, healthcare, government, aviation, commercial office, and retail — provides clients with a breadth of creative solutions and valuable insights into the process of design and construction. Clients appreciate that he is always focused on their goals, championing the best possible outcomes for them.

Doug has worked in a variety of roles in his career, ranging from owner's representative to project engineer, project manager, and business development director for Fortune 500 companies, international construction firms, and regional construction and development companies. He grew up working in his father’s contracting business and enjoys the ability to see the physical results of the work put into a project.

Doug, a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED AP), has his Bachelor of Science in construction management from Western Michigan University and an OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety and Health Certification. He is a board member of Kalamazoo Communities in Schools and formerly chaired the boards of Goodwill Industries of Southwest Michigan and the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra as well as the City of Kalamazoo’s Economic Development Corporation and Brownfield Redevelopment Authority.
