John has been in the construction industry for over 21 years, with experience in managing healthcare, institutional, and government projects. In particular, he has a deep devotion to the acute care sector because of the long-term benefits a top-notch healthcare institution provides to our society. He takes great pride in helping to create exceptional facilities.
John is well versed in construction management, project scheduling, and contract administration (on both the owner and subcontractor levels). He has extensive experience in creating and maintaining cost controls and budgets as well as forecasting and managing the project’s cash flow to ensure the owner’s financial position.
John is known for his keen sense of detail and quality, but he always maintains a solid grasp of the big picture, which allows for the constant control of the project success. Given his deep understanding of construction systems, John is able to adjust and fine-tune the flow of the construction process to move the project more efficiently from conception to delivery, allowing the owner to obtain a usable project at the earliest possible date.
At Plante Moran Realpoint (PMR), formerly Plante Moran Cresa, John is part of the project management team, working on the construction of the new Children’s Hospital of Michigan (part of the Detroit Medical Center) and various projects for Botsford Hospital, now part of Beaumont Health, and most recently for Mount Nittany Health. Prior to joining Plante Moran Realpoint, John was involved in many hospital projects, includes those for the University of Michigan Health System, Greater Baltimore Medical Center, and John Hopkins/CEPAR.
John holds a Bachelor of Science in construction management and an Associate in Applied Science in building construction technology from Ferris State University. He is a Certified Professional Constructor, U.S. Green Building Council LEED Accredited Professional (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design; LEED AP), and a licensed builder.
