In response to growing demand for real estate investment advisory services, PMRIA was founded in 2013 as Plante Moran Real Estate Investment Advisors (REIA), a collaboration with Plante Moran and Plante Moran Cresa. Over the next decade, the firm expanded in size and sophistication.

In September 2023, Plante Moran REIA joined with Plante Moran Cresa to form Plante Moran Realpoint, creating an integrated commercial real estate platform. As part of that reorganization, Plante Moran REIA’s asset management services continued under a renamed entity — Plante Moran Realpoint Investment Advisors — focused on providing specialized, investor-oriented advisory and oversight. Today, PMRIA delivers a broad range of real estate asset management capabilities across all major property types, from multifamily and industrial to retail and office. PMRIA integrates seamlessly with Plante Moran Realpoint's commercial real estate team and Plante Moran's wealth management practice, providing value-added real estate advisory services for investors.

The firm is led by Zack Otte, who succeeded founding president Marty West on July 1, 2024. He continues to guide a growing team of real estate investment professionals dedicated to helping clients achieve their investment objectives.
