Principals
Kyle DeHenau has been promoted to principal.
DeHenau, based in the Chicago office, excels in guiding senior living clients through major capital improvement projects, from new buildings and renovations to entire campus repositions. He leads the predevelopment process, crafting tailored project approaches to meet each client’s unique needs. At Plante Moran Living Forward, he has successfully planned or constructed over $500 million in senior living projects.
DeHenau also leads the Plante Moran Living Forward's project management team and owner's representative services for projects under construction, managing the draw request process, owner vendor coordination, FF&E procurement, change management, move management, cash flow analysis, AHJ submissions and inspections, and project close-out procedures.
He holds dual Bachelor of Science degrees in civil engineering and architecture from Lawrence Technological University.
Senior Vice Presidents
Jacob Boss and John Cassidy have been promoted to senior vice president. Both are based in Chicago.
Boss specializes in turning market information into actionable insights and data-driven recommendations that help projects move forward free of uncertainty. Market feasibility analyses, net demand heat mapping, MSA clustering strategies, price elasticity scenarios, and prototype case studies are just a few of the tools he offers clients to inform where and at what price their product will be able to best serve as many of their target customers as possible.
Prior to joining Plante Moran Living Forward, Boss was the manager of market research for a healthcare developer’s new senior living platform. There, he was instrumental in securing a JV partnership agreement with one of the largest banks in America, which represented the developer’s first investment in the senior living industry in the form of $100 million worth of equity for new assisted living, memory care, and independent living products across the Midwest.
Boss earned his Bachelor of Science in economics from Michigan State University.
Cassidy has served on both the consulting and provider side of the senior living business. This experience has taught him how to effectively guide clients through each stage of the development process, allowing providers to keep their eye on the day-to-day mission of caring for aging adults. Cassidy excels in working with the full development team, including architects and construction professionals, to help the product delivered meets resident demands in the market while maintaining financial viability and operational efficiency.
He has a Bachelor of Arts in business and economics from Wheaton College (IL) and has participated in the LeadingAge Illinois Leadership Academy, a program for developing leaders in the senior living industry.
Senior Consultants
Deanna Tyler has promoted to senior consultant.
Based in PMLF’s Southfield, Mich. office, Tyler translates complex market signals into decision-ready insights for senior living clients, helping providers and developers understand the conditions and trends shaping their markets through supply-and-demand analyses, market and consumer research, and competitive analyses. Her research equips leaders to make confident decisions during project planning and align their products, prices, and service offerings with the market.
She has a Bachelor of Arts in public communications and cultural studies from the University of Michigan, where she graduated summa cum laude. Tyler is also a leader of the firm’s Staff Resource Group Minds of All Kinds, which promotes awareness and education around neurodiversity in the workplace.
