Paul Wills, AIA, LEED AP has a diverse background with over 18 years of experience in the design and construction fields with emphasis in the corporate and public sectors.
Paul began his career designing site improvement projects, new land developments and feasibility studies. He also worked on-site as a project surveyor and field superintendent where he supervised and managed various corporate, K-12 and higher education construction contracts.
While Paul was employed with Barton Malow Company, he worked on preliminary programming, developing schematic and design development drawings and presentation models, producing construction contracts documents, and construction administration for clients throughout the Midwest.
In 2002 Paul joined Plante Moran Cresa and is very effective in assisting clients with defining the parameters of a project and the delivery method that best meets the owner’s needs, assisting with selection of design and construction team members, working with legal counsel to develop favorable contracts and monitoring project progress from pre-planning through completion.
Paul has worked on successful large client initiatives and projects valued over $600 million. In addition to his corporate sector experience, he has assisted numerous public sector clients across Michigan and Ohio on over 100 facility projects involving building assessments, conceptual programming, bonding approval and building construction for school facilities, municipal offices, law enforcement, fire and EMS, libraries, courts, recreation centers and DPW facilities.
Paul received his bachelor of science degree in architecture from Lawrence Technological University in 1996 and a masters of architecture in 1997. He became a Licensed Architect in 2001. Paul is a LEED accredited professional (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), and a member of the American Institute of Architects. He is certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards. Paul is also a chairman on the Southfield Public Schools STEM Advisory Board. He is also affiliated with the Michigan Association of School Administrators, Michigan School Business Offices, Michigan Institute for Educational Management, and the Michigan Leadership Institute.
