Real estate investment strategy results in optimal investment performance of $200+ million portfolio

Plante Moran Realpoint Investment Advisors aided the client in developing an investment strategy that resulted in acquiring $200+ million of new industrial, multifamily, and retail real estate assets.

The challenge

Plante Moran Realpoint Investment Advisors (PMRIA), formerly Plante Moran REIA, was engaged to advise a client who had sold a successful business, resulting in a substantial amount of investible equity becoming available for deployment. The client sought to diversify its investments across real estate, private equity, and securities.

The solution

PMRIA assisted in developing and implementing a real estate investment strategy that determined an appropriate allocation for the real estate based upon risk tolerance, return objectives, and asset allocation strategy.

Through identifying, vetting, and underwriting the client ultimately acquired $200+ million of new industrial, multifamily, and retail real estate assets located in the Southwest and Midwest.

The benefit

PMRIA continues to pursue new investments for the client while providing asset management services for the new portfolio. Our team now ensures optimal investment performance through the following services:

  • Investment monitoring and reporting
  • Oversight of third-party service providers
  • Development, implementation, and oversight of asset-level business plans
  • Ongoing monitoring and realignment of the portfolio strategy
