As a member of the project management team, Scott is known for his strong team-focused work ethic and his unwavering attention to detail. His work on K-12 projects and corporate real estate developments attest to his ability to provide value and savings to his clients.
In his current role at Plante Moran Realpoint (PMR), formerly Plante Moran Cresa, Scott is coordinating the $195 million bond campaign for Birmingham Public Schools, which involves major updates across schools, including athletic complex upgrades, new auxiliary gymnasiums, additions, and significant renovations. After successfully completing a $131.5 million bond campaign for Farmington Public Schools, Scott and the PMR team helped the district coordinate and plan for a new $98 million bond campaign that will focus on critical upgrades and improvements not completed in the previous bond. Acting as the school district’s representative, Scott and the rest of the PMR team use their experience in the industry to make knowledgeable, far-sighted recommendations to guide the district through the planning and construction processes.
Scott’s experience in construction management on a wide array of projects, facility assessments, move management, and other construction-related services — along with his insight into facility and equipment depreciation — make him a unique and valuable resource to his clients and the PMR team.
He joined PMR from Plante Moran’s Tax Solutions Group, where he performed cost segregation studies. He executed over 100 cost segregation studies totaling more than 5 million square feet in a variety of industries, examining nearly $700 million worth of construction work and saving clients over $35 million in first-year tax savings.
Scott is a U.S. Green Building Council LEED-Accredited Professional (LEED AP) with a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Michigan Technological University. He is also a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers.
