Dawn leads the estate and business transition practice for Plante Moran.  With more than 15 years in the estate planning and business transition area, she specializes in estate planning, wealth transfer, charitable planning, and assists family business owners with their transition plans. 

She is known for her ability to educate and facilitate discussions with her clients and lead them through what can be complex and difficult decisions.  She works to ensure that they understand their estate plan, the impact to their loved ones, and tax impact and gives them alternatives to consider focused around the clients goals.

Recently, Dawn has spent a lot of time focusing on issues related to owning a family business and succession of that business to the next generation.   For many businesses, this can include creation of advisory boards, a governance structure and evaluating family philosophies. She has spoken at various conferences, including for the MACPA, the Flint Estate and Financial Planning Council, University of Toledo Center for Family & Privately Held Business, and The Community House of Birmingham Business Symposium.

Dawn has a Bachelor of Arts in in Accounting from Michigan State University and a Masters of Business Administration from Michigan State University.
