Experience
I lead our firm's governmental practice, guiding a team of more than 200 professionals in delivering exceptional service to our public sector clients. Our work spans compliance, operational best practices, financial forecasting, and strategic planning. One of the most fulfilling aspects of my role is overseeing staff supervision, development, and advancement — areas where I find deep purpose and joy.
In addition, I head our firm’s public sector audit utility practice. I’m passionate about creating value for clients, and I take pride in ensuring they receive an exceptional experience — one that reflects our commitment to quality, responsiveness, and partnership.
With over two decades at Plante Moran, I’ve had the privilege of contributing to firm leadership, championing diversity initiatives, and mentoring emerging talent. I’ve also spent the last ten years serving healthcare clients in the senior care and living industry, and for the past four years, I’ve led the assurance team in our Southfield office. These experiences have shaped my perspective and prepared me to lead our governmental practice with insight and purpose.
I’ve been featured in Crain’s Detroit for my work in promoting workplace diversity, honored with the Michigan Association of CPAs “Women to Watch – Emerging Leader” award, and recently named to Forbes’ Best-in-State CPAs list.
I frequently speak to clients and their boards about accounting and legislative developments, offering guidance on how to navigate change and position themselves for long-term success. I’ve also presented at industry association events on topics such as cash flow management, internal controls, fraud prevention, regulatory compliance, and preparing for industry shifts.
I hold a B.B.A. in accounting from Heidelberg University and an M.Acc. from Walsh College. I’m an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Michigan Association of CPAs (MICPA), the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA), the Michigan GFOA, the Special Districts Association (SDA) of Colorado, and the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA).
Outside of work, I cherish time with family and friends, especially my husband, Durand, and our son and daughter. I also enjoy traveling and reading.
