Experience
As a principal in the firm’s assurance practice, I specialize in guiding construction clients through complex accounting and financial reporting requirements. My expertise spans general contractors, subcontractors, and heavy civil and infrastructure contractors, with a diverse range of ownership structures, including private equity, ESOPs, and family-owned businesses.
Clients appreciate my technical depth and practical, relationship-driven approach. I work closely with colleagues across all of our industries to help clients think beyond the audit — whether that means planning for growth, strengthening internal processes, evaluating succession or ownership transition options, or connecting them with the right resources across the firm. In my role as chair of our internal Real Estate and Construction University, I plan and facilitate a yearly training session for our 300-plus real estate and construction team members, helping us all become more well-rounded advisors for our clients.
I’m also an active member of the firm’s benefit plan audit industry, serving client accounts and participating as a member of the technical team. Through this role, I focus on technical quality, internal training, and supporting teams on complex plan matters. My background includes large defined benefit pension plans, defined contribution plans, and employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs).
I’m an active member of the National Asphalt Paving Association (NAPA), the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA), the AICPA, MICPA, National Center of Employee Ownership (NCEO), Women of Asphalt, and the Michigan Infrastructure and Transportation Association (MITA). I earned my B.B.A. in accounting from Northwood University and obtained my CPA in 2009.
Outside of work, I serve on various boards and committees at my church, and I’m a member of the Accounting Advisory Committee at Northwood University. I enjoy staying connected to organizations that support faith, family, education, and the future of the accounting profession.
