I’m a lifelong learner. I’ve embraced opportunities to learn about topics by remaining intellectually curious and setting aside time to read or listen to podcasts.
Andrea Slabinski
Principal, CPA

As a principal on our professional standards team, I collaborate with internal audit teams and clients to address complex technical issues, demystify challenging subjects, and foster understanding. Whether it’s through training, researching new standards, ensuring quality control on financial statements, or reviewing assurance consultations, problem-solving is at the heart of what I do.

Clients appreciate my ability to break down and explain complex technical accounting matters. With 20 years of experience, I’ve nurtured a passion for training and love seeing the lightbulbs go off for people as they grasp complex topics. Around the office, I’m known for my technical skills and my passion for developing staff. My love for math laid the foundation for my career, and my current role is a perfect mix of technical challenges combined with the ability to help people – both of which I find very rewarding.

I earned my B.B.A. and Master of Accounting from the University of Michigan and hold a CPA certification. I’m also a member of the AICPA and MICPA. I have led internal discussions on share-based payments, capitalized software, and going concern considerations. I’ve also presented external webinars on business combinations and recorded an external podcast on capitalized software.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two young children, especially when we travel to various Michigan towns in the summer.
