Headshot of Ben LeClaire.

A passion of mine is building PCs. It's such a fun hobby, and I get a lot of satisfaction out of putting together a powerful and efficient machine. Also, I have a pet German Shepherd who I adore. Spending time with him and working on my home computer setup provides me with a great balance between my tech interests and my love for animals!

Experience

As a principal on the cybersecurity team, my role is to ensure we effectively evaluate your IT environment and learn what makes you function. This is to ensure our team has a positive impact helping you to control risk. Most of my clients are financial institutions focusing on community banks with assets typically about $250 million to $5 billion in asset size. My experience includes information technology general controls, privacy (GLBA), SAS70/SSAE 16/SOC, identity theft/red flag, RFPs, and other regulatory (Sarbanes-Oxley) compliance audits.

In a typical engagement, I oversee the IT audit planning process and manage staff during fieldwork. As a leader during your engagement, I challenge myself and my team to look at the resources available to you to create the most secure environment possible, informed by my knowledge of current and evolving threat landscapes. This is truly where our team can shine as it allows us to take a dynamic approach and, simply put, advise on what will work best for you.

I am a member of ISACA-Chicago Chapter and am a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).
