As a principal and the leader of the firm’s higher education audit practice in Chicago, I provide audit services to colleges and universities across the United States while also serving property and casualty insurance companies. My expertise includes financial statement audits in accordance with U.S. GAAP and the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB), as well as single audit compliance, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance. Clients appreciate my proactive approach to understanding their concerns and my commitment to carefully evaluating challenges from multiple perspectives to identify the most appropriate solution.
With more than 14 years of experience in public accounting, one of my greatest accomplishments has been developing and nurturing the higher education practice in our Chicago office. I’m equally passionate about developing people and creating opportunities for team members to stretch their skills, take on new challenges, and achieve their career goals. Around the office, I’m known for making myself available to my teams and taking a personal and professional interest in their career development.
I hold both a B.S. in accounting and finance and an M.S. in accounting from Indiana University. I’m a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Illinois CPA Society, and the Insurance Accounting & Systems Association (IASA). Since 2022, I’ve served on the IASA Midwest Chapter Board and most recently served as chapter president for the 2025–26 fiscal year. In that role, I helped plan conferences that provide education and discussion on industry trends and issues affecting insurance professionals throughout the Midwest. I’ve also presented at higher education conferences, including the Indiana Association of College and University Business Officers (IACUBO) Annual Conference, where I spoke on internal controls.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wife and our families. Golf is a favorite family activity — it’s often incorporated into our vacations and weekend gatherings. When we’re not on the course, you can find us out on the water at our family lake house in Michigan.
