As a principal on the firm’s forensic and valuation services team, I offer clients insightful business valuations for tax, financial reporting, and management planning purposes. I primarily serve middle-market companies, including closely held, family-owned, and private equity-owned businesses, and specialize in manufacturing, healthcare, and technology companies. Clients appreciate my ability to simplify complex valuation concepts, providing them with a clear understanding of the factors driving value and the implications of our conclusions for their businesses.
Around the office, colleagues know me as someone who’s always willing to help, whether that’s talking through a tough technical issue or mentoring a newer team member. I lead the valuation team’s learning and development efforts, formalizing the group’s training program and transforming it from an informal process into a structured program that sets our professionals up for success. I was drawn to consulting because I wanted a career where no two days are the same. The variety keeps the work challenging and engaging, and valuation was a great fit for my long-standing interest in business fundamentals and understanding what truly drives value. More than a decade in, that variety and intellectual challenge are still exactly what I hoped for when I began my career.
I earned my B.A. in economics from the University of Michigan. I hold an Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) certification and am a member of the American Society of Appraisers Detroit chapter. I’ve presented at the firm’s Investment Fund Symposium on transaction and valuation trends affecting fund managers, and the Illinois Venture Capital Association’s CFO Summit on early-stage fund valuations and their impact on the audit.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wife and our two kids, Blake and Brooklyn, and our dog, Chance. I’m an avid sports fan and in the fall can often be found in Ann Arbor cheering on Michigan football. We also enjoy spending time in Northern Michigan, a place that holds special meaning because it’s where my wife and I first met.
