Headshot of Dave Pesci.

In high school, I held a state record for most runs batted in one baseball game (11). It wasn't until recently that I found out I’m no longer the record holder, which is good, as records are meant to be broken.

Experience

As the leader of the commercial practice for the Flint office, I’m primarily responsible for assurance engagements as well as providing tax and business consulting services. I specialize in manufacturing and service companies with a significant concentration in the automotive and metal sectors. My client base is split between owner-managed and private equity-owned businesses with revenues ranging anywhere from $10 million to over $1 billion.

I’ve always been a numbers guy, starting at an early age when I’d scour the sports section on a daily basis to find the latest stats. In college, I took my first accounting class, and it just made sense. The more I learned about a career in public accounting, the more I gravitated toward the idea. The ability to work with different clients and their challenges on a regular basis has kept me in this career for more than 15 years.

As a way to deepen my industry knowledge and stay current on the topics facing my clients, I belong to numerous organizations, including the Society of Automotive Analysts (SAA), the Precision Metalforming Association (PMA), and the Original Equipment Suppliers Association (OESA). I also belong to the AICPA and Michigan Association of CPAs. I received a B.B.A. in accounting from Hope College.

Outside of work, my wife, Amelia, and our three children (Joseph, Harper, and Sawyer) get most of my time. I’m also an avid sports fan. With my playing days behind me, I’m starting to get involved in coaching.
