Experience
With a focus on higher education, I specialize in serving public sector clients. As a firmwide industry technical leader for grants compliance, I’m responsible for leading the firm’s single audit technical practice. This includes performing technical reviews, developing and leading internal training sessions, ensuring that firmwide audit tools are updated to reflect changes in regulations and audit requirements, and acting as an ongoing resource for engagement teams and clients.
Clients appreciate that I bring a sense of humor to our partnership — technical matters don’t have to be boring! After nearly two decades with the firm, some of my favorite parts of my career have been helping to develop staff. Whether it’s being involved in training, one-on-one discussions, or participating as an advisory team member, I love encouraging growth and guiding team members through their own career opportunities. Around the office, colleagues know me for being a single audit expert and an avid concertgoer. Pretty much any live event, whether it’s sports, music, or a show, I think is worth trying at least once.
I hold a B.S. in accounting from The University of Akron, and I’m a proud member of the AICPA and the Ohio Society of CPAs, as well as a member of the AICPA’s Government Audit Quality Center (GAQC) Executive Committee. I’m frequently invited to present on single audit topics at the AICPA & CIMA Not-for-Profit Industry Conference, the AICPA Governmental and Not-for-Profit Conference, and various AICPA webcasts. I’ve also presented on single audit and GASB topics at the NACUBO Higher Education Accounting Forum and several regional conferences.
Outside of work, I enjoy reading, traveling, and cheering on the Cleveland Browns. As a season ticket holder, my husband and I have more fun than not supporting the Cleveland Browns — even when they lose.
