I’m a three-time finisher of the World’s Toughest Mudder race, a 24-hour obstacle race across challenging terrain and climates. I’m not fast, but I’m tenacious. I especially love “black ops,” the segment of the race run overnight in the darkness.

Experience

I work with hospitals, health systems, physician practices, and payors to identify and develop data-driven solutions that will enhance and improve operational and financial performance across the entire value based care continuum.

My previous work experience includes executive leadership roles in value based care operations, healthcare quality, and patient safety. I am a disciple of value based care, and my passion is making healthcare better, safer, and more efficient and cost effective for patients and caregivers. Clients appreciate that I’m their partner in solving their most challenging issues in a way that promotes long-term success, as well as enhances the culture of continuous improvement and quality.

My workplace philosophy is that healthcare providers work way too hard not to have a ton of fun doing it, so I make it a point to make the workplace, and the work itself, fun and engaging for everyone. The most serious of work, done in the right way, can ignite a passion among teams that will yield unstoppable results. This philosophy has led me to win a national award for employee engagement in a former role.

With more than 25 years of experience, my greatest accomplishments include building a program that was nationally recognized as a Malcolm Baldridge “Area of Strength” as well as helping struggling organizations escape the financial penalties they were incurring as a result of poor performance across operational and quality metrics. I speak nationally on the topics of value based care, healthcare quality, risk management, and patient safety.

I have a bachelor’s degree in science in nursing from Deaconess College of Nursing and a doctorate of jurisprudence from Southern Illinois University School of Law. I’m a former member of the Illinois State Bar Association and American Bar Association. I’m a graduate of the IHI Patient Safety Executive Program.

When I’m not at work, I’m a runner and a rower. I love to travel and to host friends and family at our home. I spend my free time with my husband and son, and we are active in our church. I also volunteer as a moot court judge for my law school alma mater.
