I monitor industry developments in order to keep my clients current on tax law changes and items that matter to their businesses. In my role as the manufacturing and distribution industry tax leader, I help set the overall strategic direction for the firm’s M&D tax practice.
My clients appreciate that I always have time for them. Whether it’s the first conversation on a Monday morning or the last call on Friday evening, I’m going to give each business owner my complete attention. I’m happy to talk about any of their concerns from developing strategic alternatives and plans, business reviews, and internal control assessments.
My favorite aspect of working for Plante Moran is the ability to re-invent myself. I began my career in public accounting 19 years ago with the expectation that I would work long enough to get my CPA license. I stayed in public accounting because I love working with different clients and their fascinating businesses. I started with the firm as an auditor in Toledo and now, I’m a tax partner in Chicago. With every promotion and office change, I’ve been able to recalibrate my career a little more.
Outside of the office, my life revolves around my wife and three daughters. Whether we’re boating, biking, or watching a movie at home, I’m happiest spending time with them.
Occasionally I present at industry conferences on tax-related topics. I discussed the various issues to consider when buying and selling a business recently as a panelist for the Capital Strategies and M&A Forum presented by Matheson Financial Advisors. I received my bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Toledo and my M.S.T. from the University of Tulsa.
