My wife and I frequently spend time on our pontoon boat during the summer entertaining family and friends. I love to fish, and she likes to entertain, so we have great opportunities to spend time together.

Experience

With more than 30 years of healthcare services and auditing experience, I advise clients on financial and operational excellence. I focus exclusively within the healthcare industry with a specialization across the continuum of care in both hospitals and senior living, and my clients appreciate that I treat them like family — taking a sincere interest in their success.

Because of my expertise, I’m often asked to speak to boards of directors for both not-for-profit and for-profit healthcare clients on appropriate internal control policies and procedures, including governmental program compliance testing. I’ve participated on various panels at annual senior care trade association events for leadership and management, auditing standards, and strategic planning.

One of my greatest accomplishments with Plante Moran is building our Illinois healthcare practice, which has spread to neighboring states like Wisconsin, Missouri, Iowa, and Indiana. Our growth can be attributed to the tremendous amount of respect we have for our clients and the challenges they face every day serving their residents and patients.

I belong to the Illinois CPA Society, the AICPA, the administrative and finance committee of the IHCA, and the accounting and reimbursement committee of the HFMA Illinois chapter. I received my B.A. in accounting from Illinois State University.

I’m active in my local church, serving as the moderator of the deacon board. In addition, I’m active with Boy Scout Troop 198 where I enjoy spending time with my two sons.
