Juan Ramón Carcaño

Juan Ramón is a Certified Public Accountant graduated from Instituto Politécnico Nacional. He has 25 years of experience in the Financial Services Industry, including eight years as an Audit Partner specializing in the banking and securities sector at a global professional services firm, and four years as a Consulting and Regulatory Compliance Partner advising financial institutions at a boutique firm. His experience has primarily focused on Multiple Banking Institutions, Financial Groups, Brokerage Firms, None Banking Financial Entities (SOFOMES), SOFIPOS and Private Equity Funds.
He has worked with Financial Technology Institutions (Fintech) on the implementation of regulatory frameworks and the application of accounting criteria issued by the Mexican National Banking and Securities Commission (CNBV).
Juan Ramón has participated in equity public offerings both internationally and in the Mexican market, as well as in domestic and international debt issuances. He was also involved in the evaluation of internal control under U.S. standards for the purpose of issuing an Internal Control opinion in accordance with PCAOB standards for Grupo Santander in Spain. Additionally, he serves as Independent Board Member and Statutory Auditor for financial sector entities and public interest entities.
He is a member of the Mexican Institute of Public Accountants (IMCP), where he currently advises the Financial Technology and Emerging Technologies Commission (Fintech) for the 2026–2028 term and previously served as its chair for the 2022–2024 term; he is also a member of the Audit Commission of the Colegio de Contadores Públicos de México, the Tax and Accounting Committee of the Non-Banking Financial Entities Association (ASOFOM), and the Leaders Digital Board, as well as the National Commission of Financial and Emerging Technologies of the Mexican Institute of Public Accountants.
He is currently Risk Advisory Services and Finance Lead Partner for LATAM.
