The variety of clients I get to work with every day is what attracted me to this career — and what sustains me after more than 21 years. I love developing relationships with people at all levels of an organization.
I’m often asked to speak to clients, their boards, and at conferences on accounting pronouncements affecting nonprofit entities, board governance, and risk management. I speak annually at the Rocky Mountain Nonprofit Conference, and I’ve also spoken at the Colorado Nonprofit Association (CNA) Fall Conference.
The CNA recently honored me as one of its “Champions” for my commitment to the association and the not-for-profit sector. I belong to the AICPA, the Colorado Society of CPAs, the CNA Association finance committee (former treasurer), Work Options for Women finance committee (former treasurer and board chair), and the YMCA of Metropolitan Denver finance committee. I received my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting from the University of Denver.
Outside of work, my two kids keep our family busy. We love baseball (my son plays), and we’re very involved in school and church activities.
