Montserrat Colin is the International and Transactional Tax Partner based in Mexico City. She has an extensive track record advising domestic and multinational companies on strategic tax matters, with a focus on transactions, restructurings, and tax advisory services.
She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Accounting from the National Polytechnic Institute (Instituto Politécnico Nacional) and has more than 19 years of experience in Corporate Tax, International Tax, and Transaction Tax services, including 14 years of professional development within Big Four firms.
Throughout her career, she has advised clients across Mexico, China, Italy, Japan, the United States, Canada, Germany, Brazil, and other jurisdictions. Her experience includes mergers and acquisitions (M&A), share transfers, buy-side and sell-side due diligence processes, tax compliance, and the establishment of new business operations in Mexico. She has also led multidisciplinary projects in collaboration with Big Four firms, Praxity member firms, and national and international law firms.
Montserrat is co-author of the article “Background of the Short Definition of Interest”, published in Practical Mexican Tax Strategies by WorldTrade Executive and Thomson Reuters. She has served as a speaker and panelist at numerous prestigious organizations and forums, including: INDEX, American Chamber of Commerce Mexico (AmCham), CCI France Mexico, Mexican Institute of Public Accountants (IMCP), International Fiscal Association (IFA), CEO Global Network Mexico, Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Mexico (CANCHAM), North American International Tax Conference, Praxity Global Tax Conference, International Section of the New York State Bar Association, Mexican Bar Association.
