As a tax partner, I specialize in advising alternative asset investment funds, including real estate funds, REITs, private equity funds, venture capital funds, and mezzanine debt funds like SBIC and RBIC structures. In my role, I serve as a trusted business advisor assisting clients with transaction planning, tax strategy, compliance, and investor communications throughout the fund life cycle. I also help support the portfolio companies of my fund clients in the manufacturing & distribution and services industries.
Clients appreciate my ability to translate complex tax and technical concepts into clear, practical guidance that enables them to better understand the implications of their decisions and confidently navigate tax-related matters. I was drawn to this career because it offers constant opportunities to learn, tackle new challenges, and solve complex problems. The dynamic nature of the investment fund industry means no two days are the same, keeping me engaged as I research, analyze, and develop solutions that help clients achieve their objectives. Around the office, colleagues know me for my passion, optimistic outlook, and commitment to being a trusted resource.
With more than 15 years of experience serving clients in the tax industry, I regularly lead training sessions focused on key tax considerations within the fund space, helping professionals understand complex issues and effectively advise clients. I also speak to clients and internal groups on legislative and regulatory developments affecting investment fund clients. I earned my B.S. in accounting and my master’s in accounting from the Eller College of Management at the University of Arizona, and I’m a member of the AICPA and the Colorado Society of CPAs.
Outside of work, I enjoy unplugging and spending time with my family. Whether we’re hiking remote trails, camping, or traveling abroad, I love exploring new places and experiencing new landscapes, cultures, and perspectives.
