In elementary school, I played a final soccer match of a tournament at Azteca Stadium, Mexico’s largest stadium — official capacity 87,000 — and the first stadium in the world to host two World Cup final matches: 1970 and 1986!

As the leader of the firm’s global services practice, I set the strategy for the global services practice, support our growing team, and ensure clients receive top-notch service. I specialize in helping clients explore, establish, launch, and operate cross-border business ventures. This includes a range of companies, from privately held middle-market businesses looking to complete their first international venture to multinational corporations with global operations.
Since I opened Plante Moran’s Monterrey, Mexico office, I’ve continued to build relationships with colleagues, clients, and business leaders in all of our international locations (Shanghai, China; Mumbai, India; Tokyo, Japan; Amsterdam, Netherland; San José, Costa Rica; Bogotá, Colombia; and Medellín, Colombia) as well as many other countries that are of interest to foreign investors. Through this network, I connect clients with strong local teams, resources, and on-the-ground support around the globe to help ensure successful execution in each market. Clients often describe me as a “global concierge” thanks to my 25 years of experience creating relationships, breaking down barriers, and helping them navigate cross-border business matters.
I’ve helped hundreds of companies start, expand, and improve their operations by leveraging the experience I’ve gained by truly getting on the ground and knowing the people and their customs — no matter which country we’re doing business in. I take pride in pairing global strategy with reliable local execution, ensuring clients have access to the right people and capabilities wherever they operate. My expertise includes global expansion strategy; global risk and compliance; business case development and validation; site selection and incentive negotiation; investment structuring and incorporation; operational due diligence; import/export issues, strategic sourcing; operational startup assistance; mergers and acquisitions; and cultural bridge building.
I’m a regular speaker at events and seminars related to expanding globally and the current geopolitical environment. I’ve also been quoted in printed and electronic media regarding the current global business climate, trends, and opportunities. I have a B.S. in mechanical engineering with a minor in business administration. I attended ITESM (Monterrey Tec) in Monterrey, Mexico and Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colo.
I love to spend time with my wife and two young boys. I enjoy traveling to unfamiliar places to learn local cultures and meet local people. I’m a huge Formula One fan, and I’ve been a fan way before Netflix made it popular!
