Before college, I served in the United States Navy as a shipboard firefighter. We traveled to the Mediterranean Sea and Indian Ocean where our battle group supported the United Nations’ peacekeeping efforts in Bosnia and Herzegovina and humanitarian efforts in Somalia.

Experience

As the firm’s national transaction advisory services leader, I lead buy-side and sell-side due diligence and quality of earnings projects for private equity funds, their portfolio companies, and middle-market companies looking to strategically expand through acquisitions or sell their businesses. Working through exciting and fast-paced transactions gives me the opportunity to create tangible business value and bring my experience to clients. I focus on several key industries, including manufacturing, value-added distribution, food and beverage, consumer products, technology, and retail.

I look at each transaction from my client’s perspective and gain an understanding of their investment strategy. This helps me and my team to be flexible and scalable to each transaction and continue to build on the relationships that they’ve established. This also keeps us focused on what’s important to the client and ensures we add value to the process.

I co-founded the transaction advisory services (TAS) practice, diligently working to develop our national team, tools, and client base. It was extremely gratifying when the Association for Corporate Growth honored our team in 2016 with an M&A All Star Award.

As a veteran of the U.S. Navy, I’m a proud partner-sponsor of our internal Veteran Staff Resource Group. I’m honored that, because of my efforts with the group, Crain’s Chicago Business named me to its 2020 list of notable veteran executives.

I enjoy the fast-paced nature of transactions, developing relationships with clients, and learning the story behind each company. When at home, I very much enjoy time with my two boys and unwind through mountain biking and motorcycling.
