David Stahl is a relationship manager with Plante Moran Financial Advisors, providing holistic, unbiased advice to high-net worth families and institutions.  He and his team members focus on tying together the myriad of planning considerations that exist within the investment, retirement, income tax, and estate tax realms to help clients develop and maintain a customized, comprehensive long-term plan. 

David is known for his total balance sheet approach—ensuring his client’s investment strategies make sense in the context of the bigger picture while working with his clients’ suite of trusted advisors to ensure all disciplines are pulling in the same direction. Additionally, he has considerable experience working with leadership teams and investment committees of religious institutions, focusing on long-term cash flow planning, investment policy creation, implementation, and monitoring, as well as the creation and execution of socially responsible investment mandates.

He is a member of PMFA’s Research Committee, where he provides guidance on due diligence and the selection of investment strategies utilized by PMFA clients.
He also serves on the Board of the Detroit Economic Club Young Leader’s Program, and has participated on the Steering Committee for the DEC Young Leader Conference.

David graduated from Michigan State University’s Honors College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in finance. He is a Certified Financial Planner™ Professional and a Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder.
