While I work for a public accounting firm and my wife’s an accountant, it’s a good thing we don’t practice tax. In our family, we have birthdays on March 15, April 15, and October 15, which are significant tax filing dates.

As the leader of our Ohio-based financial institutions practice, I’m responsible for the delivery of best-in-class service and providing risk management and financial statement audit services to our clients in the financial services industry. I work primarily with publicly traded and privately held financial institutions and other financial services entities.

The personal and professional relationships with our staff, clients, and prospects attracted me to this career. I enjoy nurturing these relationships and watching our clients — and staff — succeed. When one of our staff are promoted or we complete a challenging project with our clients, it’s the most rewarding part of my career. My team knows I’m happy to catch up over a quick lunch or a phone call because I take a keen interest in their personal and professional development.

With 15 years of experience, I often speak to our clients and their audit committees on current topics in the financial institutions industry and the impact on their organization. I belong to the AICPA, the Ohio Society of CPAs, and the Institute of Internal Auditors. I’m the board treasurer for the Values in Action Foundation. I received a B.A. in management from Wittenberg University and an M.S. in accountancy from The Ohio State University.

I enjoy spending time with my wife and our two children. Our kids are still young, so we spend our free time playing outside, reading, going to the zoo, and watching Cleveland sports. My kids are destined to be long-suffering Cleveland sports fans, just like I am. In my free time, I enjoy cycling and ride my bike three to four times per week. I’ve completed several 100-mile bike rides to raise funds for cancer research.
