FASB Update: How the three new standards will impact your institution

Join us for a summary of the upcoming FASB standards that impact private higher education institutions and foundations. We will review the changes in financial statements of not-for-profit entities, presentation of retirement benefits, and revenue recognition including accounting for contributions received and contributions made. We will also take a deeper dive into the practical application of the lease standard and key steps you need to take for successful implementation.

Learning objectives:
At the conclusion of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Summarize the changes to financial statement presentation for of not-for-profit entities
  • Demonstrate and explain the impact of revenue recognition.
  • Identify steps to take to prepare for implementation of the lease accounting standard.
  • Know the consequences of non-compliance with the new FASB standards.

Federal Awards Update for Higher Ed

In this session, we will discuss the 2019 Compliance Supplement and the significant changes made to the compliance supplement, including the new chapter six on internal controls.

GASB Updates for Higher Ed

This presentation will provide an overview of upcoming GASB pronouncements that impact higher education institutions that follow Governmental Accounting Standards. We will provide an overview of GASB 84 and 87, and the key steps you need to take for successful implementation. We will share additional implementation guidance for GASB 83, and reminders for previously issued standards including GASB 75 and 68.

  • Summarize key implementation steps for GASB 83.
  • Identify steps to take to prepare for implementation of GASB 84 and 87.
