Carole McNees appointed to PCAOB advisory group

Partner Carole McNees has been appointed by the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board to serve on the Standards and Emerging Issues Advisory Group.
Professional photo of Carole McNees.We’re pleased to announce that Carole McNees, a member of Plante Moran’s assurance professional standards leadership team, and the firm’s Director of Quality Management, Ethics, and Assurance Policy, has been appointed by the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) to serve on the Standards and Emerging Issues Advisory Group (SEIAG).

The PCAOB, a nonprofit corporation established by Congress, oversees the audits of public companies to protect investors and promote the public interest in the preparation of accurate, independent, and informative audit reports. The SEIAG was established by the PCAOB to advise on standards and emerging issues significant to the PCAOB’s work.

Carole was appointed to the SEIAG on Feb. 7, 2024, and will serve a two-year term. She’s one of 24 members serving on this advisory group. In addition to CPAs practicing in public and in industry, the advisory group comprises individuals with backgrounds in academics, corporate management, law, and investor relations.
