Headshot of Ashley Schade

I’m a boomerang Plante Moraner. After college, I worked with the firm before joining my husband in Florida. I quickly realized that Florida wasn’t home and that I missed my PM colleagues. I was welcomed back in 2008.

Experience

With over 14 years of experience, I provide assurance and consulting services to middle-market privately owned businesses with a focus on private equity owned businesses. While many of my clients are in the services industry, I also assist clients in the manufacturing and higher education sectors.

Whether it’s dealing with changes in accounting guidance, dealing with complex transactions, or simply educating clients’ staff on better practices, my clients appreciate that I take a practical approach when serving them.

Not having any family members in accounting or business, I relied on my love of numbers and problem solving to help guide my decision toward becoming a CPA. Over time, this has evolved, and I really enjoy the relationship side of being as a CPA as much as I do the technical aspects. My hope is that staff always feel like they can not only count on me to help them get the job done, but that they know I have an interest in seeing them succeed in their goals. That’s one of the reasons I’m proud to be the Toledo Women in Leadership office champion.

I have experience with presenting to clients, their boards, and other organizations about topics of current interest, including updates in accounting guidance such as revenue recognition and lease standards. I’m proud to have been honored as a past Toledo “20 under 40” recipient.

I belong to the AICPA and the Ohio Society of CPAs. I’m also involved with the Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Northwest Ohio as a board member and a finance committee member. I received my B.S. in accounting and business administration from Heidelberg University and my M.S. in accountancy from Bowling Green State University.

I spend all my free time with my two kids, Brayden and Mara, and my husband, Scott. I enjoy watching Mara swim and dive and Brayden play football and basketball. My husband and I also like to golf and play pickleball.
