Experience

Brian is a tax partner in the family office and private equity group. He assists affluent families, family offices, and high net worth individuals with comprehensive planning in all areas of tax, including individual, flow-through, and wealth transfer matters. Brian also provides tax consulting and compliance services to privately held real estate, private equity, and venture capital funds; manufacturing companies; financial service businesses; and business owners.

Known for his extensive knowledge and expertise in the tax arena, Brian helps integrate tax strategies and ideas for his clients to help achieve real financial results. With more than 15 years of experience serving the middle market, Brian provides strategic advice to clients in matters regarding family office structure, charitable giving strategies, and other income tax-planning opportunities. Most recently he has been involved in the operational review of an existing family office client to ensure that the client is operating as efficiently as possible.

Brian is often asked to speak to clients and not-for-profit boards of directors to discuss family office operations and tax strategies around charitable giving. He frequently speaks to business owners who are close to selling their businesses about the formation and structure of family offices.

Brian has a B.S. and M.S. in accounting from University of Kansas and an M.S. in taxation from DePaul University
