Chris Walski

As the leader of Plante Moran’s acute healthcare reimbursement services group, I serve a wide range of healthcare entities to help ensure they optimize their reimbursement structures and receive all they’re entitled to under Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payor programs. I specialize in acute care healthcare reimbursement services, including stand-alone hospitals and health facilities, as well as large, complex healthcare systems.

I was attracted to healthcare consulting after seeing the impact we could have on healthcare organizations. Our team identifies significant opportunities that have benefited and will continue to benefit these organizations for years to come. With more than two decades of experience, I’m incredibly proud that we’ve developed an acute reimbursement group that has grown significantly and continues to find new ways to help hospital health systems.

In my role as office managing partner of our Traverse City, Mich. office, I focus on strategic growth, staff and practice development, and community engagement. Around the office, I’m known for being a trusted resource for staff and someone who brings new ideas to the table.

I frequently present at Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) events, state hospital associations, and internal events on a wide range of healthcare reimbursement topics. I’m a member of the AICPA, the Michigan Association of CPAs, and the HFMA. I received my B.B.A. from Alma College and my M.S. in accountancy from the University of Notre Dame.

I spend most of my free time with my wife and kids. I enjoy larger home projects that allow me to be creative, as well as spending time in the water, swimming, snorkeling, or scuba diving.
