Most people are surprised to learn that I used to be a competitive skydiver. I have over 900 solo skydives and have a gold medal from the USPA National Skydiving Championships.

Experience

As one of the firm’s main partnership state and local tax (SALT) specialists, I advise clients on various multistate tax issues, including income/franchise, sales/use, and gross receipts taxes. I work with our tax technology innovation group to develop and enhance technology solutions relevant to the partnership tax practice. I also work alongside our national tax colleagues to consult on state tax considerations for transactions. My main clients are within the investment fund tax practice, as well as the service and real estate industries.

Clients appreciate that I present complex issues in a straightforward, practical, and easy-to-understand way. At the office, I’m known for being willing to lend a hand or answer questions.

I was attracted to this career and the firm because of the opportunity to learn and grow on a daily basis. Even after 15-plus years of experience in public accounting and state and local tax, I still learn new things. I love teaching, and this position allows me to teach staff and clients about issues I’m passionate about. I’m proud to have built the foundation for a specialized state tax group focused on flow-through entity taxation.

I’m a member of the Illinois CPA Society and the AICPA. I’ve spoken to the Illinois Venture Capital Association CFO Summit for VC and PE Professional in 2023 and 2024 on a range of topics such as recent state and local legislative updates, exit structuring, and state income-sourcing topics.

I earned my B.S. in accounting from Pepperdine University and my M.S.T. from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

During the summer, I enjoy spending time at the pool with my husband, Derek, and our two daughters, Delilah and Devyn. In the winter, we enjoy visiting family in warmer places.
