I’m responsible for the overall coordination and delivery of tax services for my clients. I work closely with them to understand their businesses and goals, then advise them on a variety of tax and business matters including buy or sale transactions, entity selection and structure, multistate tax, and family wealth planning.
Since I started my career as an auditor, I bring a combination of audit and tax experience that helps me understand the financial and operational impact of tax strategies. This helps me optimize a balanced, practical approach to tax savings for my clients.
I was originally attracted to this career because of the black-and-white nature of the business. Debits must equal credits; tax must be calculated based on laws. While these are still true, I’ve remained in this profession for greater reasons. Primarily, the relationships I get to build with clients and staff. Soon, I’ll be celebrating almost three decades with the firm and I’m still going strong. I love the experiences I get to encounter every day and the people I’m blessed to work with.
In addition to serving my clients, I’m the leader of tax technology and innovation at Plante Moran. Our team embraces innovation with a dedicated focus on new and better ways we can optimize technology to drive greater value for our clients and our staff. I received a B.S. in accounting from Walsh College. I belong to the AICPA and the MICPA.
Away from the office, I enjoy anything that involves working with my hands whether projects around home, working on cars. I’ve recently channeled my “inner farmer” and bought an old tractor which I enjoy working on and spending time on our property.
