As a leader in our firm’s healthcare practice, I’m responsible for providing attestation and consulting services to healthcare clients throughout the country. I not only serve our clients by providing audit, review, and examination services, but also by providing industry expertise beyond compliance. While I specialize in serving larger, multicampus organizations, my client base includes both not-for-profit and for-profit organizations. I also focus on serving senior living organizations that provide home health, hospice, and affordable housing services.
My clients appreciate that I work hard to provide them with an efficient and effective audit while also providing valuable industry-specific solutions. They value my industry focus and, even when I don’t have all the answers, I have experts at my fingertips who will know the answer to whatever worries them.
Colleagues know me by nicknames that represent my expertise in different areas, for example, Captain Technology, Mr. Financial Statement, Cash Flow Master, and the Sleuth, among others. I’m also known as the winner of the first Ten Key Tournament in the office, after which I retired with an undefeated record.
Occasionally, I talk to clients and their boards about the upcoming revenue recognition, lease, and not-for-profit accounting changes. I’ve also presented emerging technical accounting and auditing updates at conferences for both LeadingAge Ohio and LeadingAge Indiana. I belong to the AICPA, the Ohio Society of CPAs, LeadingAge Ohio, and the Ohio Healthcare Association, and I volunteer with the finance committee of I am Boundless. I received my B.B.A. and my M.S.A. in accounting information systems from Eastern Michigan University.
Outside of work, I spend most of my time with my wife and three kids. We enjoy Ohio State football games, playing basketball, fishing, and biking — and have very competitive game nights. One of my favorite activities is golfing with my son.
