I built houses during college and continue to do woodworking in my free time. Recent projects including custom sliding barn doors for my house and a “floating” bed with LED lights for my niece.

Experience

As a leader in the firm’s cost segregation practice, I help accelerate depreciation deductions for my clients who own real estate. They depend on me for my vast knowledge of the tax rules for depreciation and fixed assets.

My experience includes all types of real estate properties, including retail, apartments, senior living, manufacturing, hospitality, medical, and even sports stadiums. I enjoy working with a variety of clients, seeing their facilities, and learning about their businesses. It’s very rewarding to provide a service that can help reduce clients’ tax liabilities.

Clients appreciate that I communicate well, deliver on time, and seek unique solutions when needed. My colleagues know me for my knowledge of construction, depreciation, and all things French bulldogs, as my wife raises them.

I’m the former president of the American Society of Professional Estimators and involved in the American Society of Cost Segregation Professionals. I’m also a licensed builder in the state of Michigan. I recently presented during MICPA trainings and at the IASA Xchange Conference. I hold a B.S. in construction management from Michigan State University.

When I’m not at work, I enjoy time with friends and family, including biking and hiking with my wife, Krista, and going on adventures with our French bulldogs.
