As the firm’s healthcare industry technical leader, I consult with teams on significant auditing, accounting, and financial reporting matters and perform engagement quality reviews to assure engagements are conducted in accordance with professional standards and applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
Most of my clients are in the healthcare and not-for-profit industries. Clients appreciate that I’m practical with my approach in helping them navigate a complex technical matter or implement a new accounting standard.
At work, I’m known for being a strong mentor — someone who’s approachable and can listen to someone’s needs and provide practical solutions and advice. I was attracted to this career because of the ability to serve others and make an impact in their lives, whether it’s external clients or internal staff and colleagues. With nearly 15 years of experience, I consider the positive impacts I have on internal staff, colleagues, and external clients to be my greatest accomplishments.
I’m often asked to speak at industry trade association meetings and conferences on technical accounting and auditing topics relevant to finance and accounting leaders within the healthcare industry. I’m a member of the AICPA and MICPA. I earned my B.A. in finance and M.S. in accounting from Michigan State University.
When I’m not at work, I enjoy playing and listening to music as well as watching and playing golf. I spend most of my free time with my beautiful wife and two young children.
