I have lived in the United Kingdom, Netherlands, and the Virgin Islands. While living in the Netherlands, we tracked down the house my great-grandfather was born in which still displays the family name.

Experience

I’m a member of the international tax services group, focusing on international tax consulting and compliance. I spend most of my time providing consulting services to both inbound and outbound clients regarding structuring, M&A, and tax-efficient cash planning. While I work with clients across many industries and jurisdictions, I have specific experience consulting with complex multinational companies in the technology sector helping them plan for global growth.

I was attracted to this career because of the ability to help a wide variety of companies navigate the ever-increasingly complex global tax environment. My clients appreciate that I bring practical advice and can apply my personal experience from working in other countries.

Because of my two decades of professional experience, including 15 years in international tax, I am often asked to speak about various international tax topics, such as global tax structuring, cross-border M&A, and global IP planning. Recently, I have presented with the U.S. Department of Commerce and shared my experience and technical knowledge with the Van Andel Global Trade Center at Grand Valley State University, the Tax Executives Institute, and several of the global conferences put on by our global network.

I’m a member of the Michigan and Wisconsin Bar Associations and am active with the local Detroit French American Chamber and the British American Business Council of Michigan. I received a B.A. in history from the University of Michigan, a J.D. from University of Wisconsin Law School, and an M.S.T. from Grand Valley State University.

Outside of the office, I enjoy travel, hiking, fostering dogs, and wine tasting. I like to spend time with my husband and our rescue dog, Finley, a four-year-old Lab/Husky mix.
