I love making music with my two favorite bandmates — my wife and son — but my most memorable audience was playing for hundreds of inmates in a prison yard. (My family stayed home, and I wasn’t an inmate.)

Experience

As the leader of Plante Moran's Healthcare Analytics and Revenue Cycle Optimization practice, I help physician groups, hospitals, and health systems discover hidden insights from their data and, most importantly, advise them on how to take action based on this information.

Most of my time is focused on helping providers maximize revenue, optimize expenses, and minimize compliance risk in their revenue cycle, from the front-end to the back-end. I lead team of revenue cycle experts who combine advanced analytics capabilities with deep revenue cycle experience to diagnose the root causes of issues and guide clients through a tactical ‘get well’ plan.

Whether reducing denials, ensuring revenue integrity, or remediating credit balances, my clients say that they appreciate my pragmatic approach and personal touch which breaks down the hype around data analytics to deliver practical solutions. I love helping clients innovate and frequently help them deploy their first dashboard, build their first predictive model, or use Robotic Process Automation (RPA) for the first time. My passion is helping others find that elusive “ah-ha” moment through their data and am proud to lead our team of data scientists who combine their healthcare experience to do the same.

Michigan's Oakland County previously recognized me as one of its “Elite 40 Under 40” due to my passion for helping clients achieve success through data analytics. I’m a Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR), credentialed Project Management Professional (PMP), and I received my B.S. in community development from Central Michigan University.

I enjoy travelling to new destinations with my wife, Stephanie, and our son, Dean. We find balance through summer bike rides in northern Michigan and winter getaways to Florida. I’m very involved with the music team at my local church and enjoy giving back to the community. As a foodie, my wife can attest that I spend countless hours researching the best “local joints” when we travel.
