I’ve been a certified scuba diver since I was 15. My dad is a master diver, and we went on a lot of dives together. One of my first, and my favorite, dives was the Grand Cayman wall.

Experience

As the leader of the firm’s private equity practice, I work to ensure our practice is coordinated across all platforms and services in order to best serve our clients.

Our private equity practice has services to help our clients and their portfolio companies increase their ROI throughout the transaction life cycle. I’m also a transaction advisory services partner, where I help private equity funds and financial buyers assess acquisition risk and determine sustainable post-acquisition run rates.

My clients appreciate that I truly care about them and their acquisitions. When we work with them on a transaction, we always use a lens of “What if this was our money?” Because of this, our clients trust that we have their best interests at heart.

When we work with an acquisition target, my team and I view ourselves as an extension of our client’s team and treat the seller with respect as we try to make a difficult process as painless as possible. As a result, the client and the portfolio company management often select us to work with them on the audit and tax work post-acquisition.

It’s been incredible to see the growth of our private equity practice and our transaction advisory team over the years. Looking back to when I started compared to now, we’ve expanded to a great team of experts around the firm and, as the private equity practice leader, I’m excited to help us grow even further and bring our team to the next level. Recently, I was honored to be named one of Mergers & Acquisitions "Most Influential Women in Middle Market M&A," and ACG Detroit’s 2017 M&A “All Star Advisor of the Year.”

Around the office, I’m known for being able to make sense out of messy accounting situations. The challenges this job brings motivate me every day, and I find it gratifying to learn the stories behind the numbers. One of my favorite parts about my job is talking to the owners of the acquisition targets and learning how to put the diligence puzzle together from their story.

I often speak on the topics of due diligence and mergers and acquisitions. Recently, I spoke on a revenue recognition panel regarding its impact on the construction industry, and I also spoke at a Capital Roundtable event on due diligence for healthcare support organizations. I’m a member of the ACG and the AICPA and have a B.B.A. in accounting from Western Michigan University.
