Headshot of Mark Scovera

I was the locker room assistant for the Detroit Pistons during their 1980s Bad Boy Championship era. I was responsible for washing towels and uniforms, preparing the locker room for the next game, and packing for road trips.

Experience

As part of our financial accounting outsourcing group, I provide outsourced accounting services and temporary CFO services to my clients who are primarily small to mid-sized businesses. Although I work with a wide variety of clients, I specialize in finance and accounting solutions, real estate, and limited life/special purpose entities. I have expertise in finance, accounting, financial reporting, ERP, and internal controls.

My public accounting background includes five years providing audit services to entrepreneurial-based clients. I previously worked in the private industry, where I served as controller or CFO for several different startup to medium-sized companies in various industries for over 20 years.

I’ve often spoken to groups of entrepreneurs about financing, accounting, and growth and tax strategies. I received my B.S. in accounting from the University of Detroit. I’m a licensed real estate broker in the state of Florida. I belong to the AICPA, and I’m a volunteer board member for the National Cultural Heritage Tourism Center.

Most of my free time is spent with my family, including four children, enjoying dinners out, a movie or, playing basketball.
