I enjoy listening and dancing to a good EDM DJ set, especially when it’s spun by my nephew, an amateur DJ in Mumbai.

Experience

As the country manager of the firm’s Mumbai, India office, I manage its operations and work with firm leaders to develop and execute strategies to support the growth of Plante Moran. I do this by leveraging my experience with both U.S. and Indian public accounting firms and my long history with the firm and its amazing culture. This combination allows me to strengthen the practice in India on the firm’s foundational spirit.

I’m also a leader in the firm’s corporate practice and mergers and acquisitions group. The corporate practice would include income tax provisions (ASC 740), corporate structuring and restructuring, and transactional tax matters. Additionally, I work with the transaction advisory team on buy- and sell-side tax due diligence, including guiding them on the most efficient structure (stock versus asset sales), purchase price allocations, and transaction document issues.

I’ve assisted both private and publicly held companies, including private equity funds and portfolio companies, and regularly work with clients across manufacturing and all service industry verticals. Clients appreciate that I’m able to understand and analyze complex situations and distill our advice into practical, understandable recommendations. My co-workers know me as a strong mentor who has really come to appreciate the firm’s culture despite primarily practicing in India.

I have nearly 15 years’ experience working in the field of U.S. taxation. One of my passions is mentoring younger professionals through their career paths. The growth and development of their technical and professional skills is of particular importance to me. That care and focus is evident from the fact that most of my team has either followed me on my path to the firm, have been specifically referred to the firm by a mentee, or left the team only to boomerang back shortly thereafter. As the firm’s first country manager in India, I’ve tried to bring professionalism and stability to our team, which has allowed us to grow our people over 500% since I joined the firm in Mumbai.

I earned my Masters-in-Commerce from the University of Mumbai, India. I’m a CPA in the state of Wisconsin and an Indian Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.

I like to travel and enjoy spending time with my family. On the weekends, I like to play cricket and cook.
